Here are some things you may not know about this new town.<img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/pohdmexwwbsezhbgrzpasxshwaarhe4nikvcjjsgoxya5rqc.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&amp;h=auto\" alt=\"\" title=\"86131108\" \/><br \/><\/p><h3>Valley of the Crow<\/h3><p>Cwmbran is based in South Wales about 20 miles north east of Cardiff as the crow flies. Translated from Welsh, it means 'Valley of the Crow'.<\/p><p>The town recently came out on top in a Twitter poll to find the best UK post-war new town beating off stiff competition from the likes of Milton Keynes, Telford and Harlow. Are we pleased? You bet!<\/p><h3><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/fpdujbb49bw0cec0lwjwz4rnjht6mvdszt3gd9ecov0xjmt3.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&amp;h=auto\" alt=\"\" title=\"86200228\" \/><br \/>First McDonalds in Wales<\/h3><p>Cwmbran is renowned in the local area for it's shopping centre boasting many household names. Word has it that the first McDonalds to open in Wales was right here in Cwmbran.<\/p><p>Other attractions include a stadium, a theatre, an arts centre, a boating lake among many others. In 1996, the Welsh National Football team played a friendly against Cwmbran Town at the athletics stadium. The then manager, Bobby Gould, brought himself on and scored in the 6-1 win!<\/p><h3><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/wf7hbicooyq2u2cp3fmwdjabtfrerpghqypm1ndnit3kwpit.jpeg.jpg?w=1140&amp;h=auto\" alt=\"\" title=\"86168912\" \/><br \/>Home of the Roundabout<\/h3><p>Like roundabouts? Then you'll love Cwmbran. It's joked by some that Cwmbran is home of the roundabout. There are a reported thirty of them within the town. That's enough to get your head in a spin!<\/p><h3><img src=\"https:\/\/images.teemill.com\/ao7nqdyarrvxmv3nrbce0jdmpa3aova74xbs0iisdhc4jx8q.png.jpg?w=1140&amp;h=auto\" alt=\"\" title=\"86133944\" \/><br \/>Jammie Dodgers<\/h3><p>Ever wondered where Jammie Dodgers and Wagon Wheels were made? Yep. The next time you bump into someone. Ask if they're from Cwmbran.
